The Muses were the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, conceived in nine nights of passion. They served as divine inspiration for the arts and often delighted the residents of Olympus with their talents.
Calliope~ Muse of Lyric and Epic poetry, Chief of the Nine Muses. Though there is some confusion, she is often reported to be the mother of the Sirens, as well as the mother of Orpheus.

Melpomene~ Muse of Tragedy and also allegedly the mother of the Sirens.
Thalia~ Muse of Comedy, one of Apollo's many lovers.
